STILL DISTURBED, BUT NO LONGER SPEECHLESS

I’m still disturbed but not speechless. I can move my mouth now.

First I want to thank everyone that has emailed me. The amount of support from fans all over the world has been incredible. The comments and desires for me to lace them up another year have really made me feel good during a time of such disappointment. I cannot thank you all enough for supporting me and recognizing how much I really do love playing this game.

I know it was an unbelievable season that we had, and everyone is shocked that it ended this way, but it is pro sports. In a league that is as diverse as the NHL, there are no guaranteed winners. Unfortunately we ran into a team that was playing extremely well and a goaltender that was playing even better. We sometimes say in hockey that a goaltender can win a series by himself, and I think Hiller proved that theory. That kid is Hot.

I’m sure if you asked Patty, Nabby, Joe, or Myself, about how we played, we would all say we needed to play better individually. You win as a team and you lose as a team, so there is no one to personally blame. I’m sure I speak for all my teammates in taking this time to apologize to all the fans for such an early exit. The Sharks fans deserve better, you never have a down night, and we let you down. I have been so impressed with the passion and loyalty brought into the Tanks game after game. Trust me your energy flows right through me every time I am on the ice. It is an unbelievable feeling and I thank you all personally for that.

I will continue being disturbed, but I can’t be held speechless for too long!

Hockey fan since 1940. Have great memories of the past and present..the players and the game. Played semi pro in 1951/1952 in San Bernadino CA. Sharpened the skates and cleaned the ice with the jeep and a planer. Most players were about 5′10 and 175 lbs. Most of time the players got gas money since we had to go back home after every game. The manager handled the receipts and seemed like there was never any money left.

Been in Phoenix area for 30 years. It seemed like it all started going downhill with Mike Barnett and Gretzky.Good players left for whatever reason, lines changed constantly, and next year will be the good year all because WG is in charge.

Do great players make good coaches..if not, why do you think so? I don’t remeber a bigger rip-off. allyn
