Q&A – 04.12.09

Q: Does it get to you when fans start to comment on personal characteristics rather than hockey skills and talent. I find it a little unnerving even if I’m not a fan of that particular player because I can respect that they have made it to be able to play professional sports. I think fans should show some respect. What do you think?

A: Erin, There will never be entire respect in pro sports. Unfortunately not everyone in this world has class, so there is always that person that feels enjoyment hurting others. I cannot stand it when fans feel empowered behind the glass/boards, or a computer. I would love some of these cowards to say it when the glass is down or away from their computer keyboard, theywouldn’t be so vocal then. Fan banter can be all in good fun, when appropriate, but PERSONAL attacks are exactly what is wrong with this world.
