BASEBALL, TV APPEARANCES, AND HOCKEY HITS!

What an unbelievable World Series match-up! The two cities in the Country that hate each other the most, Phillies vs. Yankees. Think about the Road Rage that is going to be happening on the NJ Turnpike for the next two weeks! This is a job for Homeland Security. This is a ratings dream, for the network carrying the games, Wow. Phillies in 6!

Just in case you guys missed it, I will be doing Off The Record on TSN a couple times per month. A great way to get my opinions out there quick!
I think Michaels does a great job at instigating my opinions. Don’t miss it!

Great hit by Mike Richards on Booth. We are taught early in our career not to come across the middle and watch your pass with your head down! I learned, Lindros learned it, and Kariya Learned it… now David Booth learned it. I don’t think he will be doing that again. Mike Richards is a talented, tough, respectful hockey player. He plays the game the way it should be, with Grit and respect, and that is why he has a C on his chest. You know what people, Hockey is a hard-hitting game, deal with it!

On the other hand, Ruutu’s hit on Darcy Tucker, was a cheap shot at its finest! Hitting someone from behind is a total lack of respect, and a gutless act. If Ruutu stuck up for himself once and a while and fought more, I’d have a little bit more respect for him. He’s just a gutless hired instigator. Unfortunately the NHL has made this job acceptable and too many guys are signed with expectations of running around trying to hurt people; AKA: Jordan TooToo. The NHL needs to police those types of players a little harder to free up more spots for talented players that play the game hard, and with grit, not dirt!

    JR,
i am happy to that you are being honored byt he blackhawks. it is well deserved, you did a lot of great things for that city and club. i know this doesnt have much to do with this article but growing up watching you with the hawks and then eventually end up with my beloved Flyers made me that much more of a fan. Thanks for the memories like beating the leafs in the Playoffs…. PS see that you are still hating them. i love to see them in the basement. thanks again. PSS, you were the greatest in NHL 94

  2. Jeff (philly) says:

Thank God, someone who gets the Richards hit. JR you were awesome here cause you tell it like it is. You need to tell some of these so called “hockey experts” whats a legal hit and what isn’t.

  4. Jim W says:

Will you be doing any signings in Chicago when you come here on Sunday the 15th of November? This will be the first Sharks/ Hawks game I have missed in 5 yrs in Chicago , at least they are televised now

  5. Robert says:

way to tell it like it is JR!! I agree, I have always thought Rutuu was dirt. It’ll be interesting to see if he answers calls from the Avs next time they play. Wish you all the best JR.

  6. UCF is going to give his opinion now says:

Add Olvechkin to the “singled out for hits” list. I thought you can hit anybody so long as they’re around the puck or the puck just left, it’s not in the back, it’s not high, it’s not a crosscheck, and it’s not a two-step charge. Those are the rules right? That leaves a LOT of room for hits in the NHL. There certainly aren’t enough clean hits going around these days.
